.....of pitocin, that is. Yup Ladies and Gentlemen, the midwife has decided to induce me on Saturday unless Tot decides to come on his own before then. Andrew will be born at 39 weeks and 2 or 3 days, depending on how long labor lasts.
My bp was still high on Tuesday when I went in for my checkup (128/102 ~ so high that the alarms went off on the machine after it took my reading) and I've started to dilate and efface and he's head down, so Midwife decided there wasn't any reason to leave the Little One in there. Basically we're doing the whole "better safe than sorry" approach. Midwife says I have pregnancy induced hypertension and that it ought to go back to normal once I've given birth.
I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo relieved that we're inducing while Sam is here. He has training in Alabama soon and I was concerned that Andrew would decide to come then instead of when his Dad is available. I was afraid that not only would Sam miss the whole first year of his son's life, but the birth as well. Yes, you read that right. Remember a few months ago when I posted about how excited we were that Mister wasn't going to deploy? That his boss decided to hold him back from it so he could run the office here on post? Yeah..........throw THAT right out the window. Atleast it isn't a total shock. We knew it was always a possibility that he would end up having to go, we just hoped he would really get to stay behind like we were told. He leaves very very very soon but I won't post exactly when or where bc that would be a violation of OPSEC (http://www.strykernews.com/archives/2004/07/25/opsec_guidelines.html). I would ask that all of you please refrain from posting anything that says where he is/when he is going or coming back/etc on your Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc, too. Please remember that Mister's job is of sensitive nature and by blabbing that kind of info across the internet, you put all 3 of us in danger. *steps down from her podium*
So anyways - we'll be parents this weekend!!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE PREGNANCY!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteStart the epidural as you start the pitocin. It's a bad bitch. They gave it to me even though my water had broken. Within minutes I was calling for the anestheologist...loudly! Good luck! So excited!
